During swimming training
In the pool on my own
Quiet echoes, warm air: mix of chlorine and sauna pine wood.
The minute clock relentlessly turning.
Water lapping and gurgling into the drains.
During the 200m sets, about half way I turned, pushed off,
Glided,
Kicked five times under water to the surface,
Took two or three strokes,
And deep below me, I spotted,
spinningandzigzaggingaway
A little vortex of water and air, a small tornoado:
Still happily spinning away from a previous length
How did you get there, I thought.
A funny sight!
