A friend once told me a story about when his old car’s sloppy engine cut and the brake became a useless foot pump.
The car drifted silently along the beach road, past palm trees and bistro tables.
His son in the back seat leaned forward and said, “What are you going to do now, Dad?”.
As my friend held onto the steering wheel he said, “I don’t know. I have never been in this situation before.”
So they drifted along until the car eventually slowed to a stop.
I often find myself thinking about his story and when thinking about being a parent. I very often have no idea what to do because I often find myself in a situation I have never been in before.
